Sanders, Dauda Lead Eagles to Third Straight Win in 61-37 Defeat of IMG Academy
WINTER HAVEN - The Eagles captured their third consecutive victory Thursday night in the Health Center, 61-37 over IMG Academy.
Polk's defensive pressure held IMG Academy to 23.1% (12-for-52) shooting from the field. The Eagles only allowed 11 points in the first eight minutes of the second half and held IMG Academy to six points in the last 10:30 of the ball game.
While playing on a new gym floor with a healthy squad for the first time this season, the Eagles move to 10-9 on the season and are above the .500 mark for the first time this season.
Sidney Sanders was the star offensively for the Eagles with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while also adding three assists and eight rebounds. Freshman Ismaila Dauda had eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
Polk is back in action in the Health Center on Tuesday night as they host the TAAG (Talented Athletes from Around the Globe) Academy. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.
