Eagles outscore Panthers 13-5

Polk State had 11 hits tonight in a 13-5 win over South Florida State College at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.  

Every Eagles starter reached base at least once. 

After the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Eagles put five runs on the board in the second. 

Trent SInkfield led off with a walk, and Tor Sehnert's double put runners at second and third for James Boldin, who doubled both runners home to tie the game. 

Jaisen Randolph followed with a single to score Boldin and give Polk State a 3-2 lead. 

Randolph stole second, Demetrio Rodriguez was hit by a pitch, and Drew Howard's sacrifice bunt advanced the runners. Both crossed the plate when Danny Berg singled, giving the Eagles a 5-2 advantage. 

South Florida answered with two runs the following inning on a bases-loaded single with one out. 

The Eagles responded with five more runs in the fourth.  

After they loaded the bases on a single, a walk, and a hit batter, Brady Gulakowski hit an RBI single, Sehnert singled in two runs, and Boldin drove in two more with a double for a 10-4 lead. 

The Panthers scored their final run in the sixth on a two-out double and a single.  

Polk State put three more runs on the board in the bottom of the inning.  

Sinkfield reached first on an error and took third on Sehnert's single. Boldin then drove in SInkfield with a single. Randolph followed with a single to score Sehnert, and Drew Howard drove in the 13thrun with a single to score Boldin. 

Timothy Watkins (3-2) earned the win in relief, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out four in four innings. 

Starter Billy McKay allowed four runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts in three innings. 

Carter Slentz and Bryce Hill each tossed a scoreless inning. 

Boldin went 3-for-5 with two runs and five RBI. 

Randolph had a 2-for-4 night with a run and two RBI. 

Sehnert singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored three. 

Berg finished with a single, two walks, a run, and two RBI. 

Sinkfield walked once and scored twice. 

Gulakowski had a single, a run, and an RBI. 

Rodriguez singled, walked, and scored twice. 

Howard had a single, an RBI, and two sacrifices. 

The Eagles (24-24, 11-14) play Hillsborough Community College (24-21, 15-9) tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
