Four Polk State sophomore baseball players today committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers.
Danny Berg (Saskatoon, SK, CA) signed with Lynn University (NCAA DII) in Boca Raton, Fla. He was an All-Conference selection as a freshman, posting a .342 batting average and scoring 41 runs.
Brad Gulakowski (Pittsburgh, PA) committed to Liberty University (NCAA DI) in Lynchburg, Va. After transferring to Polk State from North Carolina State, he had a strong fall season, displaying good catch-and-throw ability behind the plate and power potential with the bat.
Sam Koruschak (Haines City, FL) will attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro (NCAA DI). A returning middle infielder, he was an everyday starter last season, hitting .284 with 37 RBI as a freshman.
Billy McKay (Plant City, FL) signed with University of Central Florida (NCAA D1) in Orlando. He set the school record for appearances last season with 31. He was also an All-Conference selection after going 6-2 with four saves and 65 strikeouts in 65 innings.
"We're excited for all of these guys to find future homes that should be a great fit for them," said Head Coach Al Corbeil.
"They have all worked extremely hard in their time at here, and it's always rewarding to watch them move on from Polk State."
