Eagles fall to Manatees on the road

Polk State lost 12-0 in seven innings today to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota in Bradenton. 

The Eagles have lost three straight games, including two consecutive seven-inning shutouts to SCF. 

Polk State allowed six unearned runs and had four hits. Trent Sinkfield and Danny Berg each singled twice.  

Zach Scott walked and Mitch Osborne reached first on an error. 

Starting pitcher Chavez Fernander (4-2) took the loss. In three innings he allowed six runs on five hits, walking three and striking out four. 

Danny Berg, Bryce Van Horn, and Billy McKay saw action in relief.

The Eagles (13-12, 2-3) play the Manatees again Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
