Eagles lose 6-5 to St. Johns River

Trailing 6-3, Polk State scored solo runs in the eighth and ninth innings but could get no closer, losing 6-5 to St. Johns River State College yesterday in Palatka. 

Starting pitcher Evan Johnson (0-1) took the loss. Billy McKay and Danny Berg saw action in relief. 

Rhys Cratty went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. 

Berg singled twice, walked, and scored a run. 

Sam Koruschak had a single and an RBI. 

Chase Ashby singled and scored a run. 

Johnson and Zach Scott each had a single and a run scored. 

The Eagles (3-5, No. 10 FCSAA, No. 12 NJCAA) return to action today when they face Seminole State College at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
