Eagles struggle to score against Broward

The Polk State Eagles struggled against the Broward College Seahawks today, losing 14-1 in seven innings at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

Broward scored seven runs on seven hits in the first two innings off Eagles starter Danny Madden (0-1). The Seahawks added five runs in the fourth and two in the seventh. 

The Eagles scored their only run in the third when Evan Johnson reached first on an error, advanced to second and then third on wild pitches, and scored on Chase Ashby's single. 

The Eagles (1-2, No. 7 FCSAA, No. 12 NJCAA) hit the road Friday for a 2 p.m. game at Daytona State College.
