Diewert named to All-Tournament baseball team

Zach Diewert of Polk State College has been named to the 2017 FCSAA State/NJCAA Region 8 All-Tournament baseball team. 

In three games (May 5, 6, and 7) at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Diewert had six hits, three runs, and two RBI. 

He homered, doubled three times, walked twice, and stole a base. 

"Zach had a great overall year for us, and he showed his ability to continue to perform and produce against some of the best arms in the state," said Head Coach Al Corbeil. 

"It's very nice to see him recognized to the All-Tournament Team."  

A sophomore outfielder from Chemainus, BC, Canada, Diewert has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri. 

For the season, Diewert had 64 runs (second in FCSAA), 46 walks (second in FCSAA), 32 stolen bases (fourth in FCSAA, seventh in NJCAA), 17 doubles (fourth in FCSAA).   

He finished the season with a .440 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage.
