Trailing 3-0 after the top of the first inning, Polk State came back to beat St. Petersburg College 10-5 tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.

The Titans took the early lead on an infield single, a Polk State error, a walk, and a bases-loaded double.

The Eagles got a run in the bottom of the inning when, with two outs, Zach Diewert walked, took third on an error, and scored on Cole Warken's single.

In the bottom of the fourth, Zach Scott led off with a single up the middle. He stole second and scored when Warken's fly ball to right was dropped. Warken took third on the play and scored on Isaiah Cullum's single, tying the score at 3.

Cullum moved to second base on a wild pitch and took third on Austin Hoffman's bunt single. Jonah Garrison followed with a single, scoring Cullum and giving the Eagles a 4-3 lead.

Raudy Martinez then tripled, plating Hoffman and Garrison for a 6-3 advantage.

The Eagles added three runs the following inning.

Cullum took first after being hit by a pitch and advanced to second on Zach Biermann's single.

Garrison's single to left scored Cullum.

After the Titans made a pitching change, Martinez hit an 0-2 pitch to right, scoring Biermann. Garrison went to third and scored on a wild pitch, putting the Eagles up 9-3.

They scored their final run in the sixth when Warken's sacrifice fly scored Diewert from third.

St. Pete scored solo runs in the eighth and ninth.

Starting pitcher Justin Gill (4-2) earned the win. In five and one-third innings he allowed three runs on five hits, walking one and striking out five.

Luis Ferrer finished the game, picking up his first save of the season. He gave up two runs (one unearned) on three hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

The Eagles had 11 hits.

Martinez had three RBI, while Warken and Garrison each drove in two runs.

Scott went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run, and a stolen base.
