Spicer and Schneider combine on two-hit shutout

Polk State posted its second straight shutout last night, blanking State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 4-0 at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

Jordan Spicer (3-0) held the Manatees to two hits in seven and one-third of an inning. He walked two and struck out eight. 

Zach Schneider earned his third save, allowing no hits in one and two-thirds of an inning while recording three strikeouts. 

Raudy Martinez homered, walked, scored a run, and drove in three runs. 

Isaiah Cullum went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk. 

Zach Scott singled and walked. 

Zach Biermann and Cole Warken each walked and scored a run. 

Austin Hoffman had a double. 

Jonah Garrison singled and scored a run. 

The Eagles (26-8, 10-3, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 10 NJCAA) play State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota again tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Bradenton.
