Eagles pound Panthers’ pitching in 19-0 win

Polk State's offense exploded for 11 runs in the first inning as the Eagles cruised to a 19-0 win in seven innings yesterday against the South Florida State College Panthers in Avon Park. 

The Eagles added six runs in the second along with solo runs in the fourth and seventh. 

Zach Diewert went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, a walk, and an RBI. 

Bradley Harmon singled twice, scored twice, and drove in two runs. 

Jonah Garrison (2-for-5) had two runs and two RBI. 

Zach Scott doubled, walked, drove in two runs, and scored three runs. 

Isaiah Cullum had two walks, two runs, and an RBI. 

Skylar Frey singled twice, drove in two runs, and scored three runs. 

Zach Biermann had a single, a run, and two RBI.

Cole Warken singled, scored twice, and drove in a run.

Marquis Orozco had a single, a walk, and two runs. 

Three Eagles combine to hold the Panthers to one hit. 

Drew Marino (2-0) pitched the first five innings, allowing one hit and a walk while striking out five. 

Julio Blanco and Pat Doudican each hurled a hitless inning. 

The Eagles (25-8, 9-3, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 10 NJCAA) play State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
