Eagles lose to Vikings in bottom of ninth

The Eagles (7-2, No. 3 FCSAA, No. 11 NJCAA) travel to Sanford to day to play Seminole State College at 2 p.m.
The Eagles (7-2, No. 3 FCSAA, No. 11 NJCAA) travel to Sanford to day to play Seminole State College at 2 p.m.

Leading 6-5 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, Polk State lost the lead and the game yesterday when St. Johns River State College scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. 

The Eagles scored first when they put a run on the board in the third. 

After the Vikings scored four runs in the fifth, the Eagles answered with four runs in the top of the sixth. St. Johns River got a solo run in the bottom of the sixth, and the game then stayed scoreless until the Vikings rallied in the bottom of the ninth. 

Raudy Martinez homered, singled, scored twice, and drove in a run. 

Cole Warken went 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and two RBI. 

Zach Diewert had a double, a run, and an RBI. 

Zach Scott singled and walked. 

Austin Hoffman had a sacrifice fly and an RBI. 

Jonah Garrison singled and scored a run.

Justin Tworek (0-2) took the loss in relief.
