Eagles fall to Falcons on the road

After five straight wins, Polk State lost its first game of the season today, falling to Daytona State 6-5 in Daytona Beach. 

The Eagles had a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but the Falcons rallied for four runs and the win. 

Jordan Spicer started on the mound for Polk State, allowing two runs (one unearned) on four hits in five innings. He walked two and struck out seven. 

Justin Gill relieved Spicer and gave up no hits or runs in three innings. 

Justin Tworek took the loss after the Falcons scored four runs on four hits and a walk.

Cole Warken went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. 

Zach Scott had two hits, a run, and two RBI. 

Jonah Garrison went 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

Raudy Martinez collected two hits and an RBI. 

The Eagles (5-1, No. 4 FCSAA, No. 11 NJCAA) have a rematch with Daytona State tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
