Joe Strzelecki pitched a complete-game four-hitter, and Polk State extended its winning streak to six games, beating Hillsborough Community College 5-2 tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.

The Eagles took a 3-0 lead in the fourth. After Isaiah Cullum and Zach Diewert led off the inning with back-to-back singles, Cole Warken bunted for a base hit to load the bases.

Strzelecki then helped his cause by lifting a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Cullum and advancing Diewert and Warken. Yeison Gomez followed with a single to right, scoring both runners.

After Strzelecki held the Hawks hitless through five innings, they put two runs on the board in the sixth on a walk, a double, and an error.

The Eagles added a solo run in the bottom of the inning when Diewert was hit by a pitch and scored on a double by Gomez.

Polk State picked up its final run in the seventh after Cody Burgess doubled, moved to third on Brandon Gali's sacrifice bunt, and scored on Zach Biermann's sacrifice fly.

Strzelecki (5-2) allowed one earned run while walking one and striking out six. At the plate he went 1-for-2 with a walk.

Gomez had a single, a double, and three RBI.

Burgess went 2-for-5 with a single, a double, a run, and a stolen base.

In addition to his sacrifice fly and RBI, Biermann singled and stole second.

Warken sacrificed twice, singled, and scored twice.
