Eagles beat St. Pete 4-2

Polk State beat St. Petersburg College 4-2 today at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater. 

With the score tied at one after four innings, the Eagles scored solo runs in the fifth, sixth, and ninth innings. 

Zak Spivy (4-2) pitched a complete game. In nine innings he allowed five hits and two runs while walking one and striking out six. 

Zach Biermann had a single, a sacrifice fly, and two RBI. 

Zach Diewert singled, doubled, tripled, stole a base, and scored twice. 

Joe Strzelecki went 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

Cody Burgess had a double, three singles, a stolen base, and a run. 

Skylar Frey went 2-for-4 with a double and a run. 

Yeison Gomez had a sacrifice fly and an RBI. 

The Eagles (25-12, 10-6, No. 8 FCSAA) play St. Petersburg tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
