Eagles lose to Florida SouthWestern in 12 innings

Polk State lost to Florida SouthWestern State College 7-6 last night in 12 innings in Fort Myers. 

With the score tied at 3, the Eagles scored three runs in the top of the 12th inning to take a 6-3 lead. But the Buccaneers answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. 

Zach Biermann had a single, a double, a run scored, an RBI, two walks, and a stolen base. 

Raudy Martinez went 2-for-6 with a triple, and run, and two RBI. 

Zach Diewert singled, doubled, stole two bases, walked, and scored a run. 

Cody Burgess had a single, a sacrifice, a stolen base, and an RBI. 

Skylar Frey singled, walked, and scored twice.

Cole Warken had a walk, a sacrifice, a run, and two stolen bases. 

Starting pitcher Zak Spivy worked 6.1 innings, allowing seven hits and one run while walking two and striking out eight. 

Justin Gill, Zach Schneider, Chad Tworek, Justin Tworek, and Jacob Kelley pitched in relief. 

The Eagles (19-10, 4-4, No. 7 FCSAA) face Florida SouthWestern again Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
