Eagles prepare for conference play with 12-1 win

Polk State defeated the Southeastern University JV 12-1 today at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

Every Eagle batter had at least one hit. 

Zach Diewert went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, two stolen bases, and an RBI. 

Cody Burgess singled twice, scored two runs, stole two bases, and walked. 

Zach Biermann had a single, a double, two runs scored, two RBI, and a stolen base. 

Raudy Martinez collected two singles, two runs, two RBI, and a stolen base. 

Cole Warken singled, tripled, scored two runs, stole two bases, and drove in two runs. 

Brandon Gali had a single and three RBI. 

Tommy Gamble singled, doubled, and walked. 

Isaiah Cullum had a single, an RBI, and two runs scored. 

Zak Spivy got the win, evening his record at 2-2. In six shutout innings he allowed two hits and struck out six. 

Justin Gill, Chad Tworek, and Tommy Romero each worked an inning in relief. 

The Eagles (14-6, No. 10 FCSAA) start Suncoast Conference play at St. Petersburg College on Monday at 6 p.m.
