Eagles score 24 runs in win

Polk State beat Webber International University JV 24-4 tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

The Eagles collected 22 hits in the game. 

Skylar Frey went 4-for-4 with a triple and a home run, four RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. 

Raudy Martinez drove in five runs. He singled twice, doubled, stole a base, and scored two runs. 

Cody Burgess hit three singles, scored four runs, drove in a run, walked, and stole two bases. 

Yeison Gomez had three RBI, two singles and a double, a run scored, two walks, and two stolen bases. 

Isaiah Cullum went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs, a walk, and two RBI. 

Zach Biermann singled twice, scored four runs, drove in two runs, walked and stole two bases. 

Tommy Gamble had a double and a single, two runs scored, three RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. 

Cole Warken doubled, scored twice, and stole a base. 

Brandon Gali collected a single, a run scored, an RBI, and two walks. 

Zach Diewert scored a run, walked, and stole a base. 

Starting pitcher Joe Strzelecki got the win, improving his record to 2-1. In three innings he gave up five hits and four runs (one unearned), while walking two and striking out two. 

Justin Gill pitched four hitless innings, recording five strikeouts. 

Johnnie Schneider worked the final two innings, yielding two hits and a walk while striking out three. 

The Eagles (12-6, No. 9 FCSAA) travel to Lake-Sumter State College on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game.
