Zach Biermann hit a grand slam and a solo home run, but Polk State dropped a 9-7 decision to St. Johns River State College tonight in Palatka.
Biermann's blast witih the bases loaded gave the Eagles a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
The Vikings, however, tied the game with four runs in the bottom of the first.
The Eagles scored twice in the second and once in the third, taking a 7-4 lead.
Seven runs was not enough though, as St. Johns River scored solo runs in the fourth and fifth and three in the seventh for the 9-7 win.
Cole Warken went 2-for-3 with a double, a run, and a walk.
Cody Burgess (2-for-4) had two RBI two stolen bases, a run, and a walk.
Yeison Gomez singled and stole a base.
Brandon Gali had a single and a run scored.
Isaiah Cullum walked and scored a run.

The Eagles (5-2, No. 9 FCSAA) travel to Sanford on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. game against Seminole State College of Florida.
