For the second day in a row, Polk State rallied for a come-from-behind win at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.

Today the Eagles beat Pasco-Hernando State College 7-3.

The Conquistadors got on the board first, scoring two runs off starting pitcher Joe Strzelecki in the top of the third inning.

The Eagles answered in the bottom of the inning when Cole Warken led off with a triple down the right-field line. With one out, Tommy Gamble doubled to left field, scoring Warken and cutting the lead to 2-1.

After Kaylor Kulina followed with a walk, Brandon Gali advanced the runners to second and third on a force out.

Yeison Gomez then singled to score both runners and put the Eagles up 3-2.

Polk State added a run in the sixth when Gomez and Isaiah Cullum singled, Cody Burgess walked, and Warken singled with the bases loaded to score Gomez.

Pasco-Hernando got a run back in the seventh on a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI double, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

The Eagles responded with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

After Kulina walked and Brandon Gail reached base on an error, Gomez advanced the runners on a fielder's choice, and Zach Biermann singled to score two runs.

Polk State added a final run in the eighth when Warken led off with a single and then Diewert and Gamble were each hit by a pitch, loading the bases.

Kulina then lofted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Warken.

"Our bullpen did another great job today," said Head Coach Al Corbeil.

"They threw a bunch of strikes and made Pasco-Hernando earn their run, and we swung the bats well enough to put seven runs on the board."

Strzelecki got his first win of the season. He worked four innings, allowing five hits and two runs while walking one and striking out seven.

Zak Spivy (two innings, two hits, three strikeouts) and Justin Gill (0.1 inning, one run, one walk) followed in in relief.

Zach Schneider earned the save, his first, with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. He gave up one hit while striking out four.

Warken had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, two runs, and an RBI.

Gomez enjoyed a 2-for-5 afternoon with a run and two RBI.

Gamble (1-for-3) had a double, a stolen base, a run, and an RBI.

Cody Burgess went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.

Kulina scored twice and drove in a run.

The Eagles (2-0, No. 7 FCSAA) travel to Indian River State College on Monday for a 2 p.m. game.
