Eagles shut out South Florida for fifth straight win

Polk State won its fifth straight game today, beating South Florida State College 8-0 in Avon Park. 

The Eagles have now shut out the Panthers in back-to-back games. 

Maikor Mora (5-3) allowed six hits in seven innings, walking two and striking out four. 

Jacob Kelley held the Panthers hitless in the eighth, and Jordan Guerrero allowed no hits in the ninth. 

JD Osborne singled, walked, stole a base, and drove in two runs. 

Kyle Jackson had three hits, including a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored. 

Matt Piatt went two-for-five with a stolen base and a run scored. 

Andrew Stroud singled, walked, stole a base, and scored twice. 

Luke Parker collected a single, a walk, a run, an RBI, and two stolen bases. 

Keith Oren singled twice, walked, and scored a run. 

Kaylor Kulina, who saw his consecutive-game hitting streak end at 23, walked stole a base, and scored a run. 

Brandon Gali had a walk and an RBI. 

The Eagles (32-13, 14-6, No. 4 FCSAA) face South Florida again Monday at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
