Polk State lost 12-9 in 10 innings tonight to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota in Winter Haven.
Down 5-0, the Eagles scored two runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to cut the lead to 5-4.
After the Manatees increased their lead to 7-4 in the top of the seventh, the Eagles cut the deficit to 7-6 with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
But the Manatees came back with two runs in the top of the ninth, tying the score at 9-9. When the Eagles failed to score in the bottom of the inning, the game went into extra innings.
The Manatees then rallied for three runs in the top of the 10th to go up 12-9.
The Eagles collected 15 hits.
Luke Parker went three-for-five with two runs and four stolen bases.
Jackson doubled, walked, stole a base, scored three runs and drove in three.
Osborne (three-for-six) scored a run and collected three RBI.
Andrew Stroud doubled, walked, and drove in a pair of runs.
Matt Piatt had a single, a run, and an RBI.
Cody Burgess singled, walked, and scored a run.
Starting pitcher Brad Labozetta worked six innings. He allowed five runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out six.
Cody Gamble (2-2) worked the final two innings and took the loss.
The Eagles (27-13, 11-6, No. 5 FCSAA) face the Manatees again on Friday in Bradenton.
