Eagles lose on road to Manatees

Jordan Barrett suffered his first loss of the season last night as Polk State fell to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 3-1 in Bradenton. 

In six innings, Barrett (8-1) allowed six hits and two runs while walking three and striking out six. 

The Manatees scored solo runs in the first, fourth, and eighth innings. The Eagles got their run in the ninth. 

Joe Strzelecki gave up no hits or runs in the seventh inning. 

In the eighth, Jordan Guerrero allowed a hit and a run. 

For the Eagles, Gage Peters had a single and an RBI. 

Kyle Jackson stole a base and scored Polk State's lone run. 

Matt Piatt collected two hits and a stolen base. 

Brandon Gali singled and had three walks. 

Luke Parker and Cole Ondrejka each singled. 

The Eagles (27-12, 11-5, No. 5 FCSAA) play the Manatees again tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
