Eagles fall to St. Pete 4-3

Polk State lost 4-3 to St. Petersburg College last night in St. Petersburg. 

The Titans took a 4-0 lead, scoring two runs in the second and two more in the fourth. 

The Eagles responded with two runs in the fifth and a solo run in the sixth but could get no closer. 

Jacob Kelley (1-2) pitched five innings and allowed five hits and four runs (two unearned). 

Jose Pupo and Luis Ferrer combined to keep the Titans off the scoreboard for the final three innings. 

Polk State had 10 hits.

Luke Parker singled and swiped two bases. 

Matt Piatt doubled and scored twice. 

In four at-bats Kyle Jackson singled, doubled, and drove in a run. 

Keith Oren had a single, a run scored, and an RBI. 

Cole Ondrejka singled, and Brandon Gali had a single and a walk. 

The Eagles (27-10, 11-3, No. 5 FCSAA) play St. Petersburg College today at 1 p.m. in Winter Haven.
