Eagles drop 6-4 decision to St. Pete

Polk State lost to St. Petersburg College 6-4 today in Winter Haven. 

The Eagles built a 4-0 lead with two runs in the second inning and two more in the third. 

The Titans, however, put three runs on the board in the fifth inning and scored three more in the seventh. 

Starting pitcher Maikor Mora worked five innings, allowing six hits and three runs (one unearned) while walking two and striking out three. 

Jordan Guerrero, Joe Strzelecki, Jose Pupo, Luis Ferrer, and Zak Spivy pitched in relief. 

The Eagles had 10 hits for the second straight game. 

Kyle Jackson had two singles, a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI. 

JD Osborne singled, walked, scored a run, and drove in a run. 

Kaylor Kulina collected two singles and scored a run. 

Luke Parker went two-for-four with a run scored. 

Andrew Stroud singled and scored a run. 

Brandon Gali doubled, and Cole Ondrejka had an RBI on a sacrifice fly. 

The Eagles (27-11, 11-4, No. 5 FCSAA) travel to Bradenton on Monday to face State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota at 6 p.m.
