Extra-inning loss ends Eagles’ winning streak

Polk State had its nine-game winning streak end today as Hillsborough Community College scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to win 1-0. 

With one out in the inning, the Hawks loaded the bases. Joe Strzelecki (2-1) got two out before a single up the middle scored the winning run. 

Starting pitcher Maikor Mora pitched nine strong innings, He gave up no runs while scattering seven hits, walking one, and striking out six. 

Matt Piatt had two hits. Kaylor Kulina, Luke Parker, Cole Ondrejka, and Cody Burgess each singled. 

The Eagles (25-9, 9-2, No. 5 in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll) play Hillsborough Community College on Monday at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven.
