Offense powers Eagles to two wins at tournament

Polk State baseball continued its hot hitting today as the Eagles won twice at the St. Johns River State College Tournament in Palatka. 

In the first game, Polk State had 10 hits and beat Broward College 10-8 in seven innings. Maikor Mora pitched six innings and recorded his first win of the season. 

Cody Gamble worked the final inning and got his third save. 

Luke Parker had two hits, an RBI, a walk, and scored twice. 

Kyle Jackson went two-for-three, scoring two runs and driving in three. 

JD Osborne also had three RBI and scored a run. Brandon Gali doubled, scored a run and drove in two. 

Kaylor Kulina went two-for-four and scored twice. 

Keith Oren walked twice and had an RBI. 

Matt Piatt had a hit and a run scored.   

In game two, the Eagles got 11 hits and blanked Gulf Coast State College 6-0 in seven innings. 

Parker had two hits and an RBI, scored two runs and stole two bases. 

Cole Ondrejka collected two hits and two RBIs and a walk. 

Piatt had a hit, a walk, and an RBI. 

Kulina walked, singled, and scored a run. 

Jackson went two-for-four with an RBI and two runs scored. 

Osborne singled and doubled in four at-bats.   

Zak Spivy pitched five innings, earning his second win of the season. 

Luis Ferrer worked the last two innings to complete the shutout. 

The Eagles (7-4) have won five straight and face Seminole State College on Monday at 5 p.m. in Winter Haven.
