Kulina improves to 7-0 as Eagles continue winning streak

The Polk State Eagles won their fourth game in a row yesterday, collecting 13 hits and beating St. Petersburg College 10-4. 

Starting pitcher Casey Kulina went seven innings and struck out five, earning his seventh win of the season and improving to 7-0. Cody Gamble pitched two scoreless innings in relief, allowing no hits and striking out two. 

Matt Piatt (3-for-5) led the Eagles with a run, three hits, and three RBI. Daniel Sweet also went 3-for-5, scoring two runs and driving in one. Sam Machonis scored two runs and had two RBI in a 2-for-5 performance. Shane Gordon added a solo home run. 

Polk State improved to 23-11 (11-5 in Suncoast Conference). The Eagles host St. Petersburg College today at 6 p.m. in Winter Haven, making up Saturday's rain-cancelled game.
