Eagles get 15 hits in win over Hillsborough

Polk State batters had a busy night at the plate and on the base paths, collecting 15 hits in a 13-7 win over Hillsborough Community College tonight in Winter Haven.

Matt Piatt (2-for-3) led the Eagles with 4 RBI, a sacrifice fly, and a walk.

Casey Schroeder (3-for-5, 2 runs), Sam Machonis (2-for-5, 3 runs), and Luke Parker each drove in two runs.

Cody DeNoyelles and Cole Ondrejka had an RBI apiece, and Daniel Sweet scored a run.

Hunter Kyzar (3-0) got the win with five innings in relief of starter Devin Vainer. Cody Gamble and Jose Pupo each pitched an inning in relief.

With the win Polk State improves to 22-11 (10-5 in Suncoast Conference). The Eagles host St. Petersburg College tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Winter Haven.
