How Sweet it is!

Daniel Sweet had a big day at the plate as the Polk State Eagles continued their hot hitting today and won their fourth straight game, beating South Florida State College 7-5 in Winter Haven.   

Sweet went 4-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base, and 4 RBI. JD Osborne, Luke Parker, and Matt Piatt each scored 2 runs. Parker and Piatt also each drove in a run and stole a base.

Starting pitcher Jordan Barrett went six innings and got the win. Hunter Kyzar pitched two innings of scoreless relief, and Jose Serrano gave up 2 unearned runs before getting the final out in the 9th inning. 

Polk State improves to 16-10 (7-4 in Suncoast Conference). In their last four games the Eagles have exploded for 40 runs. The same two teams play again Monday at 6 PM in Avon Park.
