Eagles shut out South Florida for third win in a row

The Polk State Eagles won their third game in a row, blanking South Florida State College 7-0 tonight in Avon Park. 

Matt Pearce tossed eight scoreless innings and struck out 10 to earn the win. Cody Gamble added a scoreless ninth inning. 

For the hot-hitting Eagles, who had 18 hits, Cole Ondrejka (3 for 4) and Cody DeNoyelles (3 for 6) each drove in two runs, while JD Osborne (2 for 4) added a double and an RBI.

With tonight's win, Polk State improves to 15-10 (6-4 in Suncoast Conference). In their last three games the Eagles have scored 33 runs. The same two teams play again tomorrow at 1 PM in Winter Haven.
