Eagles’ hit parade continues

The Polk State Eagles continued their hot hitting, beating State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota tonight 15-2 in a seven-inning run-rule victory on the road.

The Eagles banged out 14 hits, including three doubles and two triples, in the game. Cole Ondrejka (2 for 3, 4 RBI) and Casey Schroeder (3 for 4, double, triple, 2 RBI) led the way. Shane Gordon and Luke Parker added two hits apiece, while JD Osborne had two hits and scored four runs. 

Starting pitcher Casey Kulina worked five innings for the win. Hunter Kyzar pitched the final two innings in relief. 

In the past two games, both against SCF, Manatee-Sarasota, the Eagles collected 31 hits and scored 26 runs.

With tonight's win, Polk State improves to 14-10 (5-4 in Suncoast Conference). The Eagles play on the road again Friday at South Florida State College at 6 p.m.
