Eagles shut out St. Petersburg

Polk State beat St. Petersburg College in baseball tonight 9-0 in Winter Haven. 

Starter Casey Kulina went 7 inninngs, combining with relievers Cody Gamble, and Hunter Kyzar on the shutout. 

The Eagles had 14 hits in the win. They got on the board in the first inning, scoring 2 runs on a Cody DeNoyelles ground ball and a Casey Schroeder sacrifice fly. Polk scored again in the third when Luke Parker drove in 2 runs with a single and Matt Piatt added an RBI single. 

Parker, Piatt, Schroeder, Shane Gordon, and Sam Machonis each had 2 hits in the game.

The Eagles face St. Petersburg again Friday on the road at 6 p.m.
