Kulina Tosses 6-0 Shutout over Daytona

One day after a disappointing, ninth-inning loss, the eighth-ranked Polk State College baseball team rebounded with a nifty, 6-0 victory Tuesday over Daytona State College on the road.

Sophomore lefty Casey Kulina (Penn.) twirled seven scoreless innings for Polk. He struck out four and walked just one.

Sophomore lefty Hunter Kyzar (Lake Worth) threw a scoreless eighth and freshman righty Jose Pupo (Leto) hurled the ninth for the save.

Sophomore Casey Schroeder (Ohio) socked a bases-loaded triple for the Eagles. Sam Machonis (Sickles) was 3-for-4 with a double.
Sophomore Daniel Sweet (Mississippi) went 2-for-2 with a stolen base.

Sophomore Alec Wong (Rockledge) and freshman J.D. Osborne each posted two hits.

The Eagles (5-2), who lost to Lake Sumter 4-3 on Monday, host Santa Fe today at 4 p.m. in Winter Haven.
