The Polk State College baseball team captured its third victory in a row with a run-rule 15-5, seven-inning win over visiting Eastern Florida State College in Winter Haven.
Polk sophomore Daniel Sweet (Mississippi) drove in six runs with three hits including a triple and a double as the Eagles tallied 19 hits in all.
Sophomore Hayden Kelly went deep with three runs and three hits including a two-run homer.
Casey Schroeder belted a two-run homer to end the game.
Matt Piatt (Calvary Christian) also knocked three hits and drove in a run.
Freshman righty Cody Gamble earned his first victory of the season. He gave up four runs, two earned, over five innings. He fanned three.
Freshman Jose Pupo (Florida Gulf Coast) hurled two scoreless innings of relief and struck out three.
The Eagles (3-0) host Palm Beach Friday at 5 p.m.
