Eagles Tally Victory on New Scoreboard

The Polk State College baseball team christened their new scoreboard Wednesday with plenty of bright red numbers thanks to an 8-1 victory over the Webber International University junior varsity team in Winter Haven.

Freshman Kyle Schackne (Lakeland/McKeel) picked up his second win of the season to improve to 2-0.

Freshman Daniel Sweet (Mississippi) was 2-for-3 with a triple, two stolen bases and two RBI.

Freshman Cody DeNoyelles (Windermere) singled in a run.

Sophomore Art Knight (Plant City) was 2-for-4 with four stolen bases.

Sophomore Erik Hindmon (Ocala) was 2-for-3.

The top-ranked Eagles (14-2) travel to Daytona State Friday.
