Polk State Baseball in 2012 won the FCSAA/NJCAA Division 1 Gulf District Baseball Tournament, the program's first since 1992, and earned a berth to the NJCAA JUCO World Series. The record-breaking season also brought the team's second consecutive Suncoast Conference Championship title.
The team is led by Head Coach Al Corbeil, now in his third year at the College.
In his first two seasons at Polk, Corbeil's record is 89-24-1. In his time at Polk, 17 of his players have signed scholarships to play at four-year schools, and former Eagles pitcher Alec Asher was recruited by the Texas Rangers in 2012. Corbeil's players also perform in the classroom, maintaining one of the highest cumulative GPAs among the College's athletic teams; the academic success of the program has also been recognized by the NJCAA. While at Polk, Corbeil has been named both FCSAA/NJCAA Coach of the Year and Suncoast Conference Coach of the Year.
Corbeil's coaching staff includes assistants Collin Martin and Brad Cook.
