Hindmon, Ferrante Play Well but Eagles Fall 6-3

FORT PIERCE - The Polk Baseball team saw its eight game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday as the visiting Eagles dropped a 6-3 contest to Indian River State. 

Polks drops to 12-4 on the season.

Offensively, the Eagles were led by freshman Erik Hindmon with three hits and freshman Aldo Ferrante hitting 2-for-2.

Sophomore pitcher Chris Waltermire suffered the loss for the Eagles. Freshman Chase Sparkman started and went six innings, giving up just four hits and one earned run while striking out two.

Polk will hit the road for its next contest, traveling to Daytona, FL., for a non-conference contest with Daytona State College this Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
