Freshman Pitcher Chase Sparkman Leads Eagles to Win

WINTER HAVEN - Freshman pitcher Chase Sparkman picked up his first win in his first collegiate start in a 6-1 win against Palm Beach State College.

Sparkman threw five scoreless innings and struck out four. He issued no walks.

Conor Szczerba collected his third consecutive mulit-hit game. He went 2-for-5 with a single, a double, two stolen bases and three runs scored.

Michael Danner also had two hits and three RBIs.

Polk State improves to 2-2 on the season and will play at 1 p.m. tomorrow against Daytona State College in Winter Haven.
